Scenario A: Your tracking template starts with {lpurl}
If your template starts with {lpurl} (such as with a call tracking or CRM tracking service) the merging process is straightforward.
For illustration purposes, let's assume your tracking template resembles the following example:
Any template following a similar structure will take the same approach.
Follow these steps to seamlessly merge it with Lunio:
Grab your Lunio template on “Tracking Codes” page under “Platforms” in your account’s systems overview, as described in this guide.
It will resemble the following:
Removing
{lpurl}and "?" from your current tracking template, based on the example provided above, it would become:
If your existing tracking template has an ambersand (&) after
{lpurl}, remove that too.After modifying your tracking template by removing
{lpurl}and "?" or "&" , Insert the Lunio tracking template into the primary "Tracking template" field at the account level.Then you want to insert your existing tracking template into the "Final URL suffix" field at the account level, following the example provided in the screenshot below:
If a final URL suffix is already established, we'll have to combine the template with the existing suffix.
In the context of this article, let's consider that your present Final URL suffix adheres to the following structure (any similar format will be suitable):
a) Copy the current final suffix to the new tracking URL, connecting both parameters with an ampersand (&), as illustrated in the example below.
Please Note:
If the current Final URL suffix is positioned at a lower level than the existing tracking template, insert it at this level. However, if the existing Final URL suffix is at the same or a higher level than the current tracking template, insert it at the level of the existing tracking template.
Please also utilise your own personal tracking template for this task; the one provided above is merely an illustration.
Scenario B. Your current tracking template does not start with {lpurl}
If your current tracking template does not start with {lpurl} then you are using a redirect tracker.
For this example, we will be using the example template below:
How to merge this with Lunio:
First, obtain your Lunio template from the dashboard on Lunio. It will resemble the following:
Remove the {lpurl} portion from the Lunio template, resulting in the following appearance:
Insert your current tracking at the end of the Lunio template, immediately following "&url=". The combined template will resemble this:
