How to install the Lunio conversion tracking script
Updated over a month ago

To unlock conversion related features and enhance the conversion data signals used in Lunio’s IVT detection, we strongly recommend installing our conversion tracking script.

Note: You need to be an account admin to access the script.

Where to generate your conversion tracking script

1. From Systems Overview, navigate to “Scripts” in the left panel menu and then click on the "Conversions" tab.

2. Click the “Generate Script” button to reveal the configuration settings. Give your script a name for easy reference—this could for instance be the conversion type, the related workspace/brand, or the relevant domain.

Set the type of conversion and confirm whether you want the script to whitelist converting IPs or just track them.

3. Click “Generate” to confirm your settings and create the script. It will now appear listed in the Conversions table. Click the “View” button to access and copy the script.

Install with Google Tag Manager (or any other tag manager)

If you are not using a tag manager, skip this section.

  1. Log in to your Tag Manager account, and select the account & container that relates to the website in question

  2. Click "New Tag" and create a name of "Lunio Conversion Tracking"

  3. Select "Custom HTML" as the tag type, then paste the conversion tracking code into the space provided.

  4. Click the space in the "Triggering" box below, and choose a trigger that relates to the conversion action you wish to track. For example, this may be "Add to Cart" or "Completed Purchase".

  5. Click "Save" in the top right, and then "Publish"

The conversion tracking script is now live and collecting data.

Install directly on your website

If you are using a tag manager solution, skip this section.

  1. Navigate to the success page that a user reaches after a conversion action takes place (for example, a thank you page after ordering or submitting their information).

  2. Note: If your users are not redirected to a success page upon converting (for example, if you are counting button clicks as conversions), you must use a tag manager solution as described above.

  3. Install your conversion tracking script just before the </body> tag on the success page.

  4. Publish your changes to live.

The conversion tracking script is now live and collecting data.
